So, okay, we know where we are today after God gave us the Holy Spirit following the ascension of God’s Son, Jesus the Christ. God is blessing us as humans, acknowledging and forgiving our sins, hoping for our desire to access God’s Kingdom, and available to us in our need through God’s Spirit when we open our hearts wide and silent all the monkeys in our brain clamoring for attention. How did we get here? How did we get to the point where we can actually understand the concept, Emmanuel, God with us?
In the next many blogs, I am going to attempt to share with you my journey, learning and asking questions along the way. How important is the beginning? Where did evil occur? Is it a force, a god of sorts? What of angels and the spirits of ancient oral tradition? Is it all so uncertain that there is no sound, rational beginning from which to ground an understanding or a faith? My friends have heard me say that we are living in the world of God 4.0 or 5.0. What the heck does that mean, and why, and who cares?
I invite you share with me a consideration of significant events in scripture to help us understand God in our time. I found the whole story pretty fascinating. Maybe I can interest you as well. I ended up being glad I am not God. Thanks be to God for hanging in there with us.
Next week. Creation. If you think there was chaos before creation, how about afterward??

Why do I stay so over simplictic ? ‘God is the same yesterday, today and forever. This devil guy I don’t know anything about, but I know something’s there. Jon
You ae simplistic in relation to God because that is all we can rationally do with our woefully limited understanding. We approach God as children, throwing our arms into God’s embrace in faith. Really simple. However, I do not think God is so simple. God is the same today, yesterday and forever, but there seems to be evidence that God’s behavior toward God’s human creation has changed from time to time. And humankind’s attitudes toward God have evolved. What if we think that God is on a journey and we are a tiny part of it in space and time? Apart from the simplicity of faith, I find the journey to be of interest.
I believe YOU are a fractal of God. To find God you have to go within through quietude. I look forward to reading further about your journey.
Interesting thought about the notion of humans as fractals of God. It seems to me that each of us remains a cracked vessel, imperfect in various ways and given to sin…some of us less so than others, or perhaps less so as we age. So, perhaps in moments of abject humility and solitude we can come close. And perhaps through study and thought we can become more aware of the fact that nothing can separate us from the love of God. I am interested in more of your thinking.
